January 5, 2025

Mississippi Students Excel in College-Level Courses

At Grade Results, we’re passionate about creating opportunities that empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. Our dual enrollment partnership with Tougaloo College exemplifies this mission by providing high school students in our partner districts with a head start on their college journey.

In the Fall Semester of 2024, more than 400 students from our partner schools participated in the program. These students enrolled in a total of 676 courses, including Biology, Algebra, English Composition, and U.S. History. Notably, 91% of these students successfully earned college credits, highlighting both their commitment and the high quality of instruction offered through this partnership.

Mississippi: A Leader in Dual Enrollment Success

Mississippi is leading the nation in dual enrollment participation, and the results are remarkable. Of the students who engaged in these programs, 93% progressed to a college or university after high school. This achievement underscores the transformative power of dual enrollment in preparing students for higher education and beyond.

Our collaboration with Tougaloo College is helping to bridge the gap between high school and college, offering students an opportunity to experience college-level coursework while still in high school. This not only builds confidence but also reduces the time and cost required to earn a degree.

The Impact of Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment programs have far-reaching benefits for students:

  • Academic Readiness: Students gain exposure to the rigor of college-level work, making the transition to higher education smoother.
  • Financial Savings: By earning college credits in high school, students save on tuition costs and reduce the time to complete their degrees.
  • Enhanced Opportunities: The program opens doors to competitive college admissions and career pathways.

Looking Ahead

Grade Results is proud to be part of a movement that is shaping the future of education in Mississippi. The success of our students demonstrates the importance of partnerships like this one in creating pathways for academic achievement.

We’re committed to continuing this work and expanding opportunities for even more students in the years to come. Together with Tougaloo College, we’re building a brighter future—one student at a time.
